Christians and Muslims, Atheists population is growing. We are converting people everyday. What do you think?

about me http://www.charliecheckm.com The God delusion was # 8 on the list in the New York Times bestseller, # 10 on Publishers Weekly, and ranked # 2 in Amazon best-seller in November 2006. Both time, Letter # 6 on the Times list, and ranked # 8 on Amazon. Meanwhile, an increasing number of atheists are attacking our Christian faith in a few large newspapers and websites with their evolutionary beliefs often presented.

What I think? I think that as the number of people wanting to have no responsibility for their actions and free themselves of guilt from their actions grows, so do the number of Athiests. I think that when one brings knowledge in their hearts that they will one day have to answer to a higher power, it puts a restriction on their evil deeds and gives them something to work with other than death. That's what I think.

Christmas List

Christmas List

$18.99

“The uplifting conclusion of The Christmas List, a heart-warming account of the power of encouragement and appreciation, is based on a true story that circulated on the Internet. A nun told her fourth-grade students to write their names on a piece of paper and then pass the paper to the next person, who was to write a sentence of appreciation about the person named at the top. When the exercise was done, each student had twenty-four comments of admiration and appreciation – one from each classmate. The Christmas List follows James Engler, who returns home to Iowa one Christmas, after his fiancee calls off their marriage, and discovers that his best childhood friend, Mike, has just been killed in the Gulf War. When Mike’s parents reveal at a memorial service that Mike had carried his fourth-grade list with him, most of James’s former classmates confess that they, too, kept their lists as a reminder, even in the worst of times, of their admirable traits and that they were appreciated.James also renews his acquaintance with his former classmate Sarah, who wrote on his list, “You are a great guy and some day I’m going to marry.” And she does. The Oxford Companion to Christian Thought

The Oxford Companion to Christian Thought

$75

“Embracing the viewpoints of Catholic, Protestant, or Orthodox thinkers, of conservatives, liberals, radicals, and agnostics, Christianity today is anything but monolithic or univocal. In The Oxford Companion to Christian Thought, general editor Adrian Hastings has tried to capture a sense of the great diversity of opinion that swirls about under the heading of Christian thought. Indeed, the 260 contributors, who hail from twenty countries, represent as wide a range of perspectives as possible.> Here is a comprehensive and authoritative (though not dogmatic) overview of the full spectrum of Christian thinking. Within its 600 alphabetically arranged entries, readers will find lengthy survey articles on the history of Christian thought, on national and regional traditions, and on various denominations, from Anglican to Unitarian. There is ample coverage of Eastern thought as well, examining the Christian tradition in China, Japan, India, and Africa. The contributors examine major theological topics such as resurrection, the Eucharist, and grace as well as controversial issues such as homosexuality and abortion. In addition, short entries illuminate symbols such as water and wine, and there are many profiles of leading theologians, of non-Christians who have deeply influenced Christian thinking, including Aristotle and Plato, and of literary figures such as Dante, Milton, and Tolstoy. Most articles end with a list of suggested readings and the book features a large number of cross-references.> The Oxford Companion to Christian Thought is an indispensable guide to one of the central strands of Western culture. An essential volume for all Christians, it is a thoughtful gift for the holidays.”

Take and Read: Spiritual Reading - An Annotated List

Take and Read: Spiritual Reading – An Annotated List

$15

“Spiritual reading has fallen on bad times. Today, reading is largely a consumer activity, done for information that may fuel ambitions or careers-and the faster the better. Take and Read represents Eugene H. Peterson’s attempt to rekindle the activity of spiritual reading, reading that considers any book that comes to hand in a spiritual way, tuned to the Spirit, alert to intimations of God. Take and Read provides an annotated list of the books that have stood the test of time and that, for Peterson, are spiritually formative in the Christian life. The books on this list range from standard spiritual classics to novels, poems, and mysteries, and include an equally broad spectrum of authors-from Augustine and C. S. Lewis to William Faulkner and Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Annotations following each entry offer Peterson’s own significant insights into the power of each work.”

1st Steps For The New Christian

1st Steps For The New Christian

$16.99

“Following God: First Steps for the New Christian is all about having a firm foundation for our walk with the Lord. This study takes believers through the kinds of topics that will be relevant the rest of their Christian lives. These are the kinds of practical issues that we apply on a consistent, day-in and day-out basis in our relationship with Christ. In John 15:7-8 Jesus said that we could “prove” to be disciples if we abide in Him, His words abide in us, we ask and He answers, we glorify God, and we bear much fruit. Paul said that three things would last: faith, hope and love. Using these two Biblical guidelines, the book covers each of those key areas of the Christian life. For example, two weeks are spent on abiding in Christ. The first week focuses on how to abide, and the second on dealing with sin to get back to abiding. In addressing having “His words abiding in us”, one week teaches Bible study methods. This is followed by a lesson on personal devotions, which bridges between “His words abiding in us” and the next topic in Jesus’ list – prayer. The goal is that by the time someone finishes this book, they have the practical tools to keep growing and maturing as a Christian.”

Demon Hit List: Deliverance Thesaurus

Demon Hit List: Deliverance Thesaurus

$4.97

“Author John Eckhardt has gone yet another step further in equipping the saints to defeat the powers of darkness in his Deliverance Thesaurus: Demon Hit List. Since identifying and uncovering demons by name is so important in deliverance, the idea to write a thesaurus is well overdue. Some argue that we don’t need to know the specific names of demons, but names are what we use to identify. There is power in identification. The more believers can identify the enemy by name, the more successful they will be in driving the enemy out. The names found in this thesaurus are all subject to the name of Jesus. Thank God for the name of JESUS, THE NAME ABOVE EVERY NAME”

Love Is a Verb: Stories of What Happens When Love Comes Alive

Love Is a Verb: Stories of What Happens When Love Comes Alive

$14.99

“Dr. Gary Chapman has spent his life helping people communicate love more effectively and in turn build more satisfying and lasting relationships. His book The Five Love Languages is a regular on the New York Times bestsellers list–even after being in print for fifteen years–and has made the term “love language” a part of everyday speech. Love Is a Verb takes his teaching to the next level. Rather than a typical relationship self-help book filled with lengthy explanations of principles and techniques, it is a compilation of true stories displaying love in action. These stories–written by everyday people–go straight to the hearts of readers, who often say that illustrations are the most effective parts of a book. Gary Chapman adds a “Love Lesson” to each story, showing readers how they can apply the same principles to their own relationships.”

Repentance in Christian Theology:

Repentance in Christian Theology:

$39.95

“This collection of essays on the theme of repentance/penitence emerged from an assembly of biblical scholars, systematic theologians, and church historians at the 2003-2004 meetings of the American Academy of Religion/Society of Biblical Literature. Walter Brueggemann, one of the respondents to the project, calls this collection “a wondrous and rich collage of historical and contemporary probes into the specific teachings and practices of penitence.” This volume is a major resource for the interpretation, theology, and practice of communal and individual penitence. Each chapter begins with the examination of a particular aspect of the theme-repentance in the Synoptic Gospels and Acts, private confession in the German Reformation, a Pentecostal understanding of penitence, the Catholic call to conversion. Implications of that aspect to the overall theme are given, along with a list of further readings and interpretative reflections by the assembly on the results of the project. This volume gives teachers, preachers, and serious students of theology an exhaustive source of information and inspiration for renewing the initial call of Jesus to “Repent and believe in the Gospel” (Mark 1:15).”
