Christmas Bible Verses About Peace

Customer Service Rating what?

Holiday shopping season officially starts the day after Thanksgiving. Traditionally called Black Friday, if what for most countries is a day to sleep and eventually talk with visiting relatives and friends, is for retail workers beginning of the countdown to the closing business on Christmas Eve. Swarms of people came out to see what is available, enjoy the decorations and moaning wistfully at how fast time goes by of. How it is Christmas again?

This is the retail rhythm of life, and the store is the official center of worship during this very consumeristic. As a precursor the main event, an article flashed across my computer screen last week, indicating that consumers are grumpy are taking charge and fighting back against poor customer service. I can only imagine what the angry and aggravated customers to vent their frustration about being overcharge and underserved. But I also know what it feels like to stand behind the counter, gone, aiming to do everything I can to help, but what I have offer is seen as not enough.

What are consumers who complain about poor customer service does not tell you their whole side of the story. They do not tell you that they ordered their goods to be delivered early enough before they need to be on the plane home with their mother in another state. They do not say you that they broke the pretty blue and white vase, the last one in stock, as they put it in their cars. That is, you see, broken when they purchased it, and they want a refund. They also do not tell you how they held up the line behind them undesirable to a sales associate who could not find their items to the back room because they ordered a completely different product from another company.

What you will hear the slight story. Even though This is the truth, it is not the whole truth. The truth, the whole truth, is that many of us if we put too much pressure on ourselves about shopping and entertaining, we have waited too long to complete our work thoroughly, let alone joyfully, and so we become frustrated, blaming other people on hand for our poor choices. I stood on the edge of the counter too, and acknowledge the bitterness and furious emotion starts to rise inside me like music from a horror movie, as the hidden monster is about to strike.

Raising this issue now is a moment to remember all I once realized, as I Rang people for ornaments, holiday serving pieces and collector nutcrackers, blaming retailers for poor customer service is a lot like of how we treat God when our prayers are not answered and things did not go our way. Prayer is very much like sales transactions. We place our orders for work, relationship, home, vacation, this time we want, move to the next task, and assume that God is at work filling our orders. when we realize that the order has not been filled in our details, we tend to become irritated, blame God and wonder why God means to us, ignoring us, or not giving us what we want. How about the whole asking business and accepting the Bible? Unreal work?
Our great wealth of material wealth in the United States has backfired on us in many ways. We assume that if we want something, it must available, and available when we say it, even when we are dealing with God's mighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, Wonderful Counselor, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. God is always the height of our doors, but not always at our disposal. God is not about supporting our use it / toss it society, about things material or human resources. God is not about being dictated to by the terms we set for how we think things should run.

Chapter 40, verse 25, the prophet Isaiah asks us, in God's name, an important question: To whom then will you compare me, or my equal? Must Have We really want to be treating God as a purveyor of poor customer service in our lives? Do we really think God is not treating kindly us or lovingly just to make our lives miserable? I believe God has an interesting way with events that do not usually enter my mind, except in memory. But I also believe that God has my best interests in mind, and it was quite delighted to help when asked a open mind and heart.

It is my sincere hope that as we stand at the threshold of another holiday season, we can approach each other with open hearts and mind, remembering that, given the facts and an opportunity, most people will do their best for each other, simply because they and they want to.

The Catholic Verses - 95 Bible Passages That Confound Protestants

The Catholic Verses – 95 Bible Passages That Confound Protestants

$21.95

Martin Luther ignited the Protestant Reformation by tacking ninety-five anti-Catholic theses to a church door in Germany. Now Dave Armstrong counters with ninety-five pro-Catholic passages from an authority far greater than Luther: the Bible itself. Protestants (and even many Catholics) will be surprised to see Catholicism so strongly supported by these Catholic verses. Not Armstrong! As a Bible-believing Protestant, he studied Scripture intently. There he encountered countless Catholic verses that convinced him that the Bible is a Catholic book. It was written by Catholics, preserved by Catholics for more than 1,400 years before Luther was born, and even today confirms the claims of the Catholic Church. “That’s why,” says Armstrong, “early Protestant opinion was virtually identical to today’s Catholic beliefs.” With humility and care, Armstrong here explains ninety-five key Bible passages that confound all who would use Scripture to criticize the Church and Her doctrines. These are the verses that have drawn so many serious believers — including Armstrong — out of their Protestant congregations and into the Catholic Church. Armstrong shows that a fair-minded reading of each of these passages (and of the whole Bible) supports the Catholic position on the key issues that divide Protestants from Catholics. Here is Biblical evidence that Catholicism is right about the nature of baptism, the communion of saints, the Eucharist, and the Church; the authority of the Pope, the Bible, and tradition; the salvific role of faith, good works, relics, purgatory, and Mary; the immorality of divorce and contraception; and much more. The Catholic Verses is essential reading for all persons seeking to understand God’s word in the Bible and to discover the Church that continues to preach His word faithfully today.

It Seems to Me: An Attempt to Talk Sense about the Bible

$28.95

“>”It Seems to Me” was created to make the Bible more accessible to the average reader. It offers a sensible approach to the whole Bible, with the primary goal of helping people find modern paths through the ancient book. It focuses on such themes as the ancient context of the Bible, how language works, biblical images, the nature and limitations of theology, and changing understandings of reality in the search for those paths. >The primary mission of the Bible teacher is to help people feel at home in the Bible. Most people know little bits and pieces of the Bible and can quote a few verses from various passages, but often there is little understanding of the central concerns and the overarching story of the Bible. This little book is intended to help Christians move toward that understanding and discover their identity and mission as the people of God.”
