What is the least powerful generator I need to run my outdoor Christmas lights?

My house has no power but yet I would decorate the outside of my house with Christmas lights. This is just a small story of a house and I need the lights to stay on for some time. Help?

It depends on how many and what kind of lights you use. The new LED type of lighting requires much less power than older incandescent bulbs. You may be able to power the lights with a car battery and inverter. Charge the battery every day before turning the lights on at night. It would also quiet so as not to disturb anyone. If the entire string of bulbs can be powered from a single cord or outlet of a 1500 watt generator is enough. Have a look online for used generators and you can find something.
